Back in the groove....

Well it's mid February already, and it's taken me a while to get back into the making groove so to speak. Since the Holidays, I've spent the time steadily making slab pots, trying to get another batch of new pieces together. It's slow and methodical work, at times tedious- at this time of year you do need a bit of self discipline! I mainly hand-build pieces  from sheets of leather hard clay. Lots of drying, waiting, and sticking and scraping around! I've made a pretty good body of work and  it's time, I hope, to make a few experimental pieces and trial pieces- and maybe revisit one or two older forms which I "ditched" at the time. Hopefully by the time the weather warms up- by Easter I shall have some Raku firings going. In the meantime I am looking forward to seeing my Potter's stamp in the new Studio Potters and their marks book- due out anytime soon I think.
